Roosters everywhere!!!
The power is ALWAYS going out on us. I'm having canned peas for supper using my headlamp for a light. This is totally commonplace for us now.
Boiling eggs in the dark!
Goats! Ewa this is for you. There are goats, bulls, and donkeys all over the place here! They roam free so its pretty common to see them on the road, stopping traffic until they cross.
Having dinner after one of the life skills sessions
Hey kids! You're great!
On our way to work. A common scene for us these days.
This, however, was a first! A horse roaming free! It was so cool to see a beautiful animal like this outside of a fence.
Some tomatoes from the youths garden
Remember the story about our host wrestling a chicken? This was taken after she tied the legs. Such a hilarious moment, the sounds coming from the kitchen stopped my heart!
Oranges! Right outside our house!
Lots lots lots of plants have thorns here. This is so pretty and scary at the same time.
The kids just finished their puzzle about children's rights and responsibilities and were pretty happy about it. Kate organized the activity since yesterday (June 16th) was the Day of the African Child. This whole week is centering around educating the kids on the history of this day.
Reading their rights and corresponding responsibilities to the group. For example, every child has the right to education, but it is their responsibility to show up, do their homework, respect their teachers, etc.
My favorite African tree (to date). We pass it to and from work and I find it gorgeous!
NOM! Grapefruit for lunch!
